　　三、萨省有丰富的牲畜种质资源
　　萨省有优良的种牛(肉牛和奶牛)、种猪、种羊等牲畜种质资源和技术，如著名的Hypor Canada（海波尔）、Fast Genetics (Hytek)和山东六合集团、四川新希望集团、重庆天生食品公司有过合作，从萨省进口过种猪。

　　四、萨省有丰富的肉产品资源：
　　2006年萨省 12,680名牛农饲养了 148万头肉牛和 30万头奶牛。萨省 2006年有养猪场 211家左右，年产生猪 136多万头。

　　五、萨省有丰富的生物科技资源：
　　萨斯喀彻温大学的疫苗和传染疾病中心主要进行针对动物和人的各种疾病的疫苗研制。动物疫苗的作用是使动物被屠宰后不会再向人传染疾病。疫苗和传染疾病中心建于1975年．到目前为止，它已与 30多个公司有合作项目，被美国采用的专利成果就有 80多项。现在，该所正在研制禽流感的疫苗。
